Tour Details
Rainbow Mountain Peru Day Trip from Cusco

Rainbow Mountain Peru Day Trip from Cusco is one of the fairly new and most preferred tours. Also known as Montaña de Colores, it attracts more than 800 visitors a day. To most, it is second in the bucket list after Machu Picchu. There are just a few tourist who visit Cusco and not do the iconic Rainbow Mountain Tour.

There are two sites, Palccoyo and Vinicunca. Palccoyo Rainbow Mountains is mostly visited by travellers who are not keen on hiking. However, Rainbow Mountains of Vinicunca retains its authenticity by letting travellers hike up through the scenic route and sights of Andean farms and villages.

For this full day hike to Vinicunca Rainbow Mountains, we will be leaving Cusco as early as 0400 in the morning. We will stop in a little Andean village called Cusipata for breakfast before travelling to the trail head. You can opt to get the most of the Rainbow Mountain Trek by hiking or alternatively pay an additional fare and jump on horseback.

The colours that form the Rainbow Mountain Peru are mineral deposits. This is one of the prettiest and the most visited sites in Cusco.

Treks in Cusco is a locally owned tour operator based in Cusco. We offer authentic local experience to our trekkers. We offer tours to the seven colored mountain in small group or as a private tour.

Want to know the difference between Vinicunca and Palccoyo? Or Want to know the difference between the two popular treks in Cusco, Humantay Lake and Rainbow Mountain? Check out our detailed post.

Please Note: This is a high altitude trek. We highly recommend you to spend at-least 4 days in Cusco before the trek to avoid altitude sickness.
