Itinerary
2 Day Train Tour to Machu Picchu

Day 1Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

We will be picking you up from your hotel in Cusco between 0730 and 0800 AM. Then in our private transport, we will drive you along the Sacred Valley of Incas to Ollantaytambo. Here, you will be boarding the train to Machu Picchu town (Aguas Calientes). 

The train journey itself is interesting. It takes you through some Andean farms and villages along the Urubamba river. Once in Aguas Calientes, we will be accommodating you in an ensuite private hotel room. 

You will have the evening to yourself. You can relax and rejuvenate in the hot springs of Aguas Calientes or visit the museum to know more about Machu Picchu. Later that evening, our local expert will be meeting you at the lobby of the hotel and will be briefing you on the following day’s itinerary. 

Day 2Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

You will need to wake up early in the morning. The hotel representative will be handing you over  your snack box at the lobby of the hotel. Then you will be taking the bus to visit the Machu Picchu citadel. This will be a 25 minutes ride up the hill. Our local expert will assist you in crossing the security control. Here your entrance ticket will be verified with you original passport. 

Once inside the citadel, our guide will give you a two hours guided tour of the citadel. On this tour, you will be visiting sites like the main plaza, farming terraces, ceremonial centre, remains of Inca temples and royal quarters among other sites. 

After the tour, you will have some free time to explore the archaeological site on your own. Alternatively, you can hike to Sun Gate. It is a two hours hike up and down from Machu Picchu. 

If you have booked to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain, our guide will assist you to the entrance. 

After the tour of the Incan ruins, you will be taking a bus back to Aguas Calientes town. You will be the boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo train station. Our representative will be meeting you on your arrival and will be transferring you back to your hotel in Cusco.
