Sacred Valley Half Day Tour Details

Sacred Valley Half Day Tour is a popular day trips from Cusco. It gives an introduction to Inca civilization. The valley of Incas houses some of the popular archaeological sites in Cusco. As the name suggests, Sacred Valley was an important part of Inca empire and continues to be.

A part of the valley was prominent for agriculture and farming. While some held its importance for spiritual worships and some served as political centre.

Chinchero: Chinchero is a small village near Cusco. Locals here are famous for handicrafts. They are known for knitting woollen wears. Chinchero has the most fertile soil among all sites in Sacred Valley.

This was more like a country resort to Tupac Yupanqui. During his rule, he constructed many agricultural terraces and aqueducts which are in use even today.

Ollantaytambo: Ollantaytambo was more of an administrative area for Incas. The fort here was mainly a religious site. This sacred site transformed into a war zone as the Spanish rulers invaded.

Pisac: Pisac is home to the famous flea market. The market sprawls every weekend. The farmers sell their produce here. Also craftsmen sell their hand made goods. Pisac is an ideal place to shop for souvenirs.

The village is home to an impressive Inca site. It is massive and sits on top of a hill and offers stunning views of the valley below.
