The Full Day Rainbow Mountain Peru Tour begins early in the morning. Our team will pick you up from your Cusco accommodation between 4:00 AM and 4:30 AM. We will embark on a scenic drive through the breathtaking landscapes of the Andes.
The journey will take approximately three hours. You will pass traditional villages, rolling hills, and grazing llamas and alpacas. Along the way, you will witness the serene beauty of the high-altitude countryside.
We will stop for a hearty breakfast after arriving at the trailhead, 4,600 meters (15,092 feet) above sea level. This meal will prepare you for the adventure ahead. Our tour guide will provide a safety briefing and share insights about the area’s cultural and geological significance. We will then begin the hike toward Vinicunca Peru, known as Rainbow Mountain.
The Rainbow Mountain hike will span approximately 3 to 4 kilometers (1.8 to 2.5 miles) each way. It typically takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to ascend to the summit. The trail will lead you through striking Andean terrain, where snow-capped peaks and vibrant valleys stretch into the horizon.
